FOMO

It may be expanded to Fear of Missing Out. The concept is a psychological one, harping on the mentality of investors. There is apprehension that they may miss garnering profits, due to marketplace volatility. After all, it is a highly competitive world out there!

HODL

It refers to Hold on For Dear Life. Investors tend to go in for panic selling, whenever the going gets tough. However, they should opt for HODL, always. It really does not matter how bad the circumstances are. There is always scope for improvement.

FUD

Three words make up this term – fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Mischievous minds spread wrong information about diverse digital currencies. The idea is to reduce their pricings or throw various companies out of business.

BTFD

Buy the F***ing Dip, is what it means! The term urges investors to purchase varied digital currencies when they are inexpensive. This way, they may encourage the expectation of the prices eventually going up.

GM

This term is very simple to understand – Good Morning. The idea is to disseminate positive vibes across the world of virtual currencies. Thus, it is the omnipresent meme coin in the world of web3.

WAGMI

Expanding this abbreviation will give, We Are All Going to Make It. The meaning is obvious. Whatever the circumstances, the ultimate destination should prove to be pleasant. This way, they will gain the courage to continue investing in cryptocurrencies, as and when they see fit. 

NGMI

A beginner, or an inexperienced investor, might request advice. Then, the person might respond positively or reply – Not Financial Advice. The meaning is apparent. The person does not feel qualified enough, to offer advice about handling finances.

HFSP

Investors in digital currencies, tend to feel rather superior to non-investors. Then, they use the term – Have Fun Staying Poor – as a tool, to ridicule the non-investors.  

HSBAF

It stands for an expression that seems rather vulgar when verbally expressed! It refers to Holy Shit, Bears Are F**ked! There is happiness in the expression. The investor is happy that the bearish run has given way to a bullish market. In turn, there will be a hike in the prices of different cryptocurrencies. The term ridicules those, who stayed short, too.

Paper Hands

Many traders/investors get into panic selling mode when there is a crypto winter in progress. They sell their hoardings as quickly as possible. Therefore, they have Paper Hands. 

Boomer

Some investors mock the existence of outdated and old concepts in the digital currency arena. The creators should have discarded them, long ago! Sometimes, the same people ridicule even fairly-new concepts, despite their being popular. They refer to each idea as a Boomer.

Shilling

It refers to the action of offering payment for promoting a specific digital currency. The promoter goes all out to create FOMO. As a result, listeners/readers begin to believe that the cryptocurrency holds greater value than what it is portraying.
