In 2008, Raffaele Riva launched AUREA Multi Family Office, a company in which he still currently holds partnership and co-ownership roles. A number of other regulated firms, such as Milano Fiduciaria, BGB AUREA Ltd. and Aurea Gestioni Patrimonialia SA have been established under this main enterprise. Riva is the chairman of three of those businesses. Raffaele Riva has expertise in a number of relevant fields, including asset and wealth management, estate planning, wealth management, trust real estate and international business concerns.
Riva created and served as managing partner for a number of advising companies between 1997 and 2008, prior to creating AUREA Multi Family Office and its affiliated businesses. He focused on corporate financing, corporate restructuring, estate planning, wealth management, mergers and acquisitions, and international cross-border activities under these advisory organizations.
Riva held a senior executive role at a multinational conglomerate from 1992 and 1996. He held this role while serving on the boards of numerous linked businesses in South America, Europe, and other places. Additionally, he oversaw the operations of several of the company’s branches and subsidiaries in South Africa, Western Europe, South and Central America, and Canada. He worked in Milan and Manchester for a “Big 4” company between 1988 and 1992. In the fields of accounting and auditing, he served as the Assistant to a Supervisor and Assistant Manager.
Riva’s educational background includes a 1987 honors degree from Milan’s Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. His academic background is in economics, and he has expertise in accounting, mergers and acquisitions, tax law, banking law, and business financing, among other relevant fields. He received his Dottore Commercialista degree from the same institution in 1989, at which point he became a Qualified Accountant. In 1997, Raffaele Riva graduated from the Canton Ticino Management Business School’s post-graduate program at SSQUEA. He finished a post-graduate program in 1998 at SUPSI, also known as the Southern Swiss University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
His memberships in professional organizations include those for the Italian Association of Anti-Money Laundering Officers, the Associazione Il Trust in Italia, the Register of Chartered Accountants in Milano, the Register of Legal Auditors in Rome, and others.
Raffaele Riva was born in 1962 and still holds dual citizenship with Switzerland and Italy. He speaks French, Italian, and English with ease due to his varied professional and personal experience. Riva is married and pursues a variety of activities. He is a wine aficionado as well as a collector of modern and contemporary art. He also belongs to the London Reform Club as well as the Monaco Yacht Club. Riva continues to be an Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana Benefactor Member. His other hobbies and interests have included diving, skiing, show-jumping, classic automobiles, and racing.
Although there is no such thing as a “typical day” in the world of Raffaele Riva, he does try to make a point of starting his working days between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. He prioritizes his busy work schedule by making sure that the most urgent work gets immediate attention. He operates by using an agenda, which sets out what is going to happen each day, on an hourly basis. In addition, Riva maintains a daily journal, where he jots down the items he wants to accomplish.
Because Riva travels extensively, every day brings new challenges and opportunities. His strategy is always the same; to make each day as productive as possible, and never to waste precious minutes.
One of the most important habits, says Riva, is to stay curious and stay positive. While it’s important to give back, Riva doesn’t believe in putting other people’s priorities ahead of your own. “I do make a point to be a supportive and helpful person to others when they need a little bit of a boost. But it’s not helpful to anyone to constantly put others first,” cautions Riva.
The single best strategy that has contributed to the growth of Raffaele Riva’s business enterprises is the commitment to providing value to clients. According to Riva, “When you consistently look for ways to better serve and satisfy your clients, you will automatically improve your business.” His last words of advice? “Everyone has their business ideas and their own challenges: Just take the first step and move ahead!” Stay connected with Raffaele Riva here: https://www.instagram.com/rafriva/?hl=en
