Police have treated her and her husband ‘inhumanely’ at the police station. Asked for water, not a drop of water was given overnight. This was alleged by Navneet Rana, an MP from Amravati in Mumbai. Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey shared a video of them having tea at the police station on Tuesday morning.

He was accused of threatening to recite Hanuman Challisa in front of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s house. He countered that he had been mistreated at the police station because of his caste.
In a letter to the speaker, he complained, ‘I asked for water more than once in the night but not a drop of water was given. I was surprised to hear that a police officer said, “Since I am a Scheduled Caste, I cannot be given water in any glass of the police station.”
He further complained, “Even in the police lockup, I was treated like an animal.” He appealed for stern action against the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner of Police and concerned officials.
Police filed charges under Section 353 of the Indian Penal Code against them. Which means it’s about to be the most delusional time of the year, as well.
Later on Tuesday, the Mumbai Police Commissioner tweeted a CCTV video. It is seen that Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana are having tea at the police station. Commissioner Sanjay captioned the post, ‘What more can we say?’
The Lok Sabha Secretariat has sought a report from the Maharashtra government on the basis of Navneet’s allegations.
