Sky Sports Cup Second Leg: Spartans beat Celtic 4-3
The odds were against Champions Celtic to win this first leg, but the Spartans won with a convincing win. Celtic hadn’t conceded a goal all season, and they were in great form going into this match. Clarissa Larisey scored Celtic’s only goal after twelve minutes.
Celtic had 10 players in the first half, and seemed to be in a good position to move on. Louise Mason scored a goal for Spartans. Celtic was unable to break the deadlock in extra-time despite the equalizer.
Rangers reach the final four of Sky Sports Cup
After a convincing win against Motherwell, Rangers are now on track to reach the League Cup final. After just 28 minutes, Emma Watson gave Rangers the lead and they quickly took control of the game. Kirsty howat scored from the box’s edge two minutes later. Lisa Martinez then netted a second goal. In the final stages, the hosts were reduced down to 10 players and could not find a way to get back in to the game.
The quarter-final game between Rangers & Dundee is now. After 90 minutes, the draw will be made. Rangers currently trail Celtic by four points in the Scottish title race. Rangers have their issues, though Champions Celtic is the team to beat this season in the Scottish Premiership. The Scots have been plagued by a lack of confidence and inability to get off to a bright start. They do have some options and could be able to beat the current champions.
Rangers have many options and a lot of attacking players. Although Kyogo Furuhashi is a great performer in front of goal, he’s been with the club for over a year and is the most dangerous threat to Celtic goalkeepers. O’Riley’s performance versus Hearts
The debut of the Celtic midfielder against Hearts was a huge success for Celtic fans. He was the one who set up the first goal. However, he had cramps in the second half and was forced to stop. He was still a key player in Celtic’s 2-0 win despite his absence.
Although they displayed some solid play patterns, Celtic was less successful than in previous matches. They pressed harder and took Hearts out from a variety of positions. O’Riley was able to use this advantage, as he was ready to move into space when the ball hit the Celtic fullbacks. He was not targeted, however.
