Russia will not take part in a special session on the Ukraine issue at the UN Human Rights Council. Russia’s foreign ministry said in a statement. The session will be held next Thursday.
On Monday, the UN Human Rights Council announced that at the request of Kiev, the organization would hold a special session to examine the deteriorating human rights situation in Ukraine in the wake of the Russian attack. This was stated in a report on BBC Online on Tuesday.
Regarding the special session, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the Russian delegation would not allow it to take part in the new political show, especially behind the scenes.
He says Russia’s arguments and explanations about the real purpose of the special military session in Ukraine and the real situation there have been completely ignored.
Maria Zakharova says it is clear that this time around, anti-Russian Westerners will not listen to us “even during the new sanctions.”
