I could remember years back when my friend Ricky was been constantly bullied in High
school for being obese, we were 14 then. I always tried to cheer him up but at the same time
tried to convince him to lose weight.
Ricky was moderately obese, he was weighing 82kg and was barely 5 feet.
What bothered me was that he kept on adding weight till we were 18, he was weighing 102kg
and was on the road to beginning dangerously obese.
I was scared for my friend, I kept on advising him to hit the gym, but with his nonchalant
attitude he kept on brushing me off and avoiding the issue until one day something scary
happened!
On a Saturday, we were playing games in my room and suddenly Ricky started feeling sharp
pains in his chest. He thought it was a one-time thing until the pains became severe, he
collapsed and we had to rush to the hospital.
After some test runs in the hospital, it was found out that Ricky had a lot of fat on his blood
vessels close to his heart which caused his blood pressure to rise and then hence, the sharp
pain. He was at risk of having pulmonary embolism and it could have resulted in life-threatening
surgery!
The only solution was to drop a lot of weight, FAST! and regulate his diet plans.
So Ricky chose to drop his weight to set a goal weight of 70kg by the end of the year, it was no
easy task but he achieved his goal!
How did he do it?
Simply by the help of his health coach, a healthy diet regimen, and some months In the gym,
he met his goal!.
But Ricky always told me he couldn’t have done it without his health coach.
