The moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not seen in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. Due to this, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country next Monday (May 2). The country’s authorities have provided this information.

The Middle East-based news outlet Gulf News reports that a pre-scheduled meeting of Saudi Arabia’s “Moon Sighting Committee” was held on Saturday. Earlier, the citizens of the country were requested to inform the information committee if they saw the Eid moon anywhere.

However, no moon sighting was reported anywhere in Saudi Arabia on Saturday. As a result, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be held next Monday after completing 30 fasts on Sunday.

The Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, celebrated Eid on the same day as Saudi Arabia. However, no official announcement was made on behalf of these countries immediately. The International Astronomical Center (IAC) in Abu Dhabi has previously said that Middle Eastern countries are unlikely to see the holy month of Shawwal on Saturday.

Australia and Singapore have announced Eid days before Saudi Arabia. These two countries will also celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr next Monday.
