Ryan has compiled his 40 years of work, strategies, ideas, and techniques into a book titled “The Basketball Tricks Book” (40-Year Plan; The Life Playbook for Youth Sports). The book aims to impart fresh basketball strategies and other information to thousands of parents and student-athletes.
Ryan began his remarkable and important basketball training with the Sierra Canyon Program, and his adventure did not end. Coach Silver was recognized as the California Interscholastic Federation’s (CIF) Coach of the Year for 2011. He was also named California State Coach of the Year in that same year. Coach Silver volunteers with some regional and state philanthropic institutions, including California Boys’ State, where he has been a counselor for 18 years.
Ryan, Without Greeds and Glitters
Silver always thinks of serving without any greed and glitters. His efforts turned into achievements, and he was also honored by the California State Senate for dedicating his entire life to community service. California State Senator Henry Stern presented Silver with the proclamation during the California Boys’ State Hall of Fame induction ceremony. In 2020, he was given the Presidential Service award for his outstanding service.
