Russia’s Defense Ministry says 60 civilians have been evacuated from the sprawling Azovstal plant after weeks of blockades. Of these, those who wish to enter the Ukrainian-controlled territory have been handed over to the said representatives.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Zhelensky said evacuations of civilians had begun in the southern city of Mariupol. In the first phase, a group of 100 people left the area.
He hopes the team will arrive in the country’s town of Zaporizhia tomorrow.
