Introduction:

A feature allowing verified businesses on Twitter to publish job advertisements on their profiles looks to be in the works. Twitter is Prepping a Job Listings behemoth and also established an official @TwitterHiring account, albeit no tweets have been sent from it as of yet.

Even though Twitter hasn’t yet formally announced the job posts capability, some verified firms have already had access to posting job openings beneath their Twitter bios on their profiles. When interested, candidates can apply for a position and learn more about it on the company’s website thanks to the job advertisements.

Nima Owji, an app researcher, published a screenshot describing the function, which the social media behemoth is calling “Twitter Hiring.” The functionality is described by Twitter in the screenshot as a tool for verified businesses to recruit candidates for their open positions. Up to five job positions may be added to the profiles of verified firms.

The graphic also shows that verified businesses will be able to quickly upload their job ads to Twitter by connecting to a supported ATS or XML feed and importing all of their open positions.

Given that Twitter founder Elon Musk made a hint about the functionality back in May, the decision shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. A Twitter user suggested adding dating capabilities, to which Musk replied, “Interesting idea, maybe jobs too.”

With this new function, Twitter hopes to compete with well-known businesses like LinkedIn and Indeed. It’s important to note that in May, Twitter made its first acquisition since Musk bought the app, a job-matching tech business named Laskie. The acquisition probably aided Facebook in creating and releasing the functionality.

It looks that access to the job posts function won’t cost extra for verified firms. The job posting function is available to media company Workweek, according to its CEO Adam Ryan, and is part of Twitter’s $1,000 per month Verified for Organizations subscription.

Although Twitter users currently post job openings via tweets, the new functionality may make it easier for businesses to find candidates among the platform’s large user base.
