Five people were killed in two road accidents at one place on Eid day at Safipur in Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur.
The accident took place on the east side of Safipur flyover on Tuesday afternoon, said Salna (Konabari) Highway OC. Feroz Hossain informed.

The deceased have been identified as Renu Begum, 50, wife of late Altab Hossain of Sadullapur village in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram, Mohammad Hossain, 45, son of Ramiz Uddin of South Salna in Gazipur, Akter, 25, Sharif Hossain, 26, of Sanandbari village in Dewanganj upazila of Jamalpur and an unidentified person. ) A.

OC Firoz Hossain said an autorickshaw collided with a North Bengal-bound bus of ENA Paribahan while crossing the highway on the east side of Safipur flyover on the Dhaka-Tangail highway.The OC said the autorickshaw driver died on the spot. His identity was not immediately available. Several other passengers of the car were injured at the time. The locals rescued them and admitted them to the local hospital. Renu Begum, Sharif Hossain and her friend Akhter died while undergoing treatment there.

OC Firoz Hossain said a battery-powered rickshaw collided with a Taqwa Paribahan bus under the Safipur flyover a short distance from the spot five minutes after the accident. The injured said. Hossain died on the way to the hospital.

Saiful Islam, ware house inspector of Kaliakair Fire Service, said that after the incident, the fire service went to the spot and recovered the body and handed it over to the highway police.
Salna Highway Police Station OC Firoz Hossain said four people were killed in a collision between an ENA transport and an autorickshaw. In another accident, a passenger of a battery-powered autorickshaw died. The body was recovered and sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue. Their bodies will be handed over at the end of the legal process.
