Indian Home Minister Amit Shah said, “We can sleep peacefully as there is BSF at the border.”
The Indian Home Minister made the remarks during a two-day visit to West Bengal on Thursday and held a meeting with BSF officials.

He added that members of the Indian security forces at the country’s border have been protecting the human rights of locals for a long time. During the war of liberation in the seventies, when the influx of refugees landed in Bengal, the members of the Indian Army liberated Bangladesh and protected the human rights of the people of that country.
Amit Shah said, “I know how difficult it is for all the army personnel to guard the border area. You have to be vigilant all the time.” The Indo-Bangladesh border has the highest infiltration problem. The intruders are changing tactics. Preventing intruders is a big challenge. Patrols should be intensified to prevent intruders.
Earlier in the morning, Shah arrived at Dumdum Airport on a special flight. From there go to Hingalganj by helicopter.
Indian border guards have set up six floating border posts on the Ichhamati River in Hingalganj to curb smuggling by water. They were inaugurated by the Home Minister.
After that Amit Shah went to Haridaspur in Bangaon by helicopter. There he had a long meeting with the top officials of BSF. He laid the foundation stone of Maitri Museum at Haridaspur Camp on the occasion of 50 years of Bangladesh Liberation War.
Meanwhile, regarding Amit Shah’s visit to West Bengal, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “Amit Shah will come to Bengal and talk about NRC and CAA again.” Coming to Bengal, Amit Shah will say, we will introduce civil law, law is being made, law will be made in a few days, we promise, BJP will not move away from what it says. If Amit Shah doesn’t have these statements then cut off my ears.
On the second day of his visit to West Bengal, the Indian Home Minister will take part in various programs.
