Long-standing player in the web design industry Wix is making the wager that modern clients don’t particularly care to take the time to customize every element of their site’s appearance.
Wix users will be able to explain their objective and the new AI Site Generator tool from the firm will produce a website with a homepage, inner pages, text, and photos, as well as business-specific sections for events, bookings, and more. The objective, according to Wix co-founder and CEO Avishai Abrahami, was to give customers “real value” as they developed their websites and expanded their businesses.

Wix’s most ambitious AI project to date may be the AI Site Generator, but it’s not the business’s first. The freshly released text generator from Wix uses ChatGPT to enable users to create customized content for certain website sections. Its AI template text maker creates all the text for a certain site in the meantime. Along with the AI picture generation, editing, and fine-tuning capabilities offered by Wix, there is also an AI domain generator for coming up with new web domain names.
Wix isn’t embracing AI because it’s the current darling of Silicon Valley, according to Abraham. He views the technology as a sincere means of streamlining and simplifying the process of developing back-end business operations, infrastructure, payment capabilities, and more for clients’ websites.
The AI Site Generator employs a combination of internal and external AI systems to construct the desired site from a variety of prompts, including descriptions of sites. The tool poses a series of inquiries about the site’s and company’s characteristics in a chatbot-like interface, trying to transform this into a unique web template.
This is already done by other platforms, such as SpeedyBrand, which TechCrunch recently covered. However, according to Wix, AI Site Generator is special in that it can automatically include e-commerce, scheduling, food ordering, and event ticketing components based on a customer’s specifications and needs.
Along with AI Site Generator, new editing features will be made available, such as an AI page and section maker that will let users add a new page or section to a website by simply expressing their requirements. The soon-to-be-released object eraser will allow users to extract and alter objects from photographs, while the new AI assistant tool will advise site enhancements (such as adding a product or changing the design) and develop tailored strategies based on analytics and site trends.
