It has come to light that four games in the WWE 2K series have been removed from sale without prior notification.

A user named Popstasia on Reddit made the observation over the weekend that the only two WWE 2K games still available on Steam are WWE 2K22 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds. This indicates that all of the other WWE 2K games have been removed from Steam.

A changelog showing that WWE 2K17, 2K18, 2K19, and 2K20 all had their status changed to “buy disabled” on July 13 was submitted by a different user on the Steam Tracker website. The changelog information was posted by another user.

VGC did some research and found that only WWE 2K22 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds are still available on the digital marketplaces for Xbox and PlayStation. This means that the other games are no longer sold on those platforms.

Players can no longer purchase digital copies of games or their downloadable content once they have been removed from sale. However, it is still possible to redownload the games and their DLC if they have already been purchased.

The only means for gamers to access these games at this time is through the use of actual Xbox or PlayStation discs. However, downloadable content will not be accessible for purchase.

The publisher, 2K Sports, said in May that it planned to stop running the online servers for WWE 2K20 and 2K19. It looks like 2K Sports did nothing to stop the games from being taken off the market.

According to a tweet published by 2K, “we will sunset support for WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20 servers on June 30, 2022.” “This encompasses all online features, such as online matches and Community Creations,” the description reads. We are devoting our undivided attention to providing support for WWE 2K22. Thank you so much for your unwavering support! “

But this statement said nothing at all about actually pulling the games from any digital retailers.

Following the disastrous release of WWE 2K20, which was so critically panned that 2K decided to ditch WWE 2K21 and spend more time fixing what had gone wrong, the review for WWE 2K22 on VGC referred to the game as “the comeback fans have been praying for.” This is especially true in light of the fact that the game was described as “the comeback fans have been praying for.”
