Are you curious about the Adobe Suite? Wonder what it can do for your design work? In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some of the most popular components of the Adobe Suite and explore how they might be useful for you.

Adobe creative software is essential for any multimedia designer. Whether you’re a student just starting out, or a professional with years of experience, the Adobe Creative Suite has something to offer everyone.

Graphic design, video editing, and web development capabilities are all included in the no longer maintained Adobe Creative Suite (CS) software package from Adobe Systems.

On April 23, 2012, Adobe Creative Suite 6 (CS6), the latest version of Creative Suite, was released. After Adobe CS6, all following editions and updates will only be available for download.

Editions

There are in total 6 editions of Adobe creative suite. Let’s read about all of them in detail.

1. The Design Premium and Design Standard editions of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 can be used by qualified print, online, interaction, and mobile designers. The difference between Design Premium and Design Standard may be seen in the inclusion of Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended, Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5, Adobe Flash Professional CS5, Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, and Adobe Fireworks CS5.

2. Professional web designers and developers are the target market for the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium edition of this product line.

History

Creative Suite 1 & 2

Adobe Creative Suite 1 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 were both released in September 2003 and April 2005, respectively. There were two editions of the first two versions (CS and CS2).

The Standard Edition had the following:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Version Cue
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Training guide and resources for designers

In the Premium Edition was additionally:

  • Professional Adobe Acrobat (Version 8 in CS2.3)
  • Adobe Dreamweaver (Since CS2.3)
  • Adobe GoLive

Creative Suit 3

Released on March 27, 2007, Adobe Creative Suite 3 (CS3) featured universal binaries for all significant Apple Macintosh products and includes all the core Macromedia Studio and Production Studio apps.

Additionally, certain applications from the Creative Suite started utilizing the Opera web browser’s Presto layout engine.

Applications for Adobe’s CS3 platform are now available in six different “editions.” As of July 2, 2007, the Production Premium editions and the Master Collection editions began shipping. The Design Standard, Web Standard, and Premium editions are available now.

Version 3.3 of CS3 was made available for download on June 2, 2008. Acrobat 8 Pro was replaced with Acrobat 9 Pro in all editions that had featured Fireworks CS3 previously, while Design Premium now includes Fireworks CS3.

Creative Suite 4

On September 23, 2008, Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4) was unveiled, and on October 15, 2008, it was made available to the public. A new tabbed approach for dealing with concurrently running Adobe CS4 apps allows for numerous applications to be opened inside multiple tabs enclosed in a single window. All applications in CS4 used the same user experience.

Additionally, Adobe CS4 was created to operate more effectively on 64-bit and multi-core computers. Adobe Photoshop CS4 functioned as a native 64-bit application on Windows.

Adobe Photoshop CS4’s 64-bit compatibility early in its development resulted in performance gains ranging from 8% to 12%. 64-bit applications were capable of addressing greater amounts of memory and, as a result, shifted files less frequently, one of the biggest factors affecting the data processing speed.

Creative Suite 5.5

After the launch of CS5 in April 2010, Adobe switched to an every-other-year release schedule for major number increments. On April 12, 2011, CS 5.5 was presented as a stand-alone program.

The upgrade aids website designers in making their sites responsive to various tablets, smartphones, and other devices. Adobe launched a subscription-based pay service at the same time as a partial purchase replacement.

Adobe Systems declared a 50% discount on July 1, 2011, for people who earlier purchased any version of Apple’s Final Cut Pro (or Avid Media Composer).

Creative Suite 6

The launch of CS5.5 in April 2011 was “the first release in our move to an annual release cycle,” according to Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe, who also stated that “We expect to ship the next milestone edition of Creative Suite in 2012.”

A free beta of Adobe Photoshop CS6 was made available by Adobe on March 21, 2012.  Adobe CS6’s final release was introduced on April 23, 2012[17] at a release event, and it began to be distributed on May 7.

Adobe also introduced the Adobe Creative Cloud, a subscription-based service that allows customers to subscribe to specific programs or the entire Adobe Creative Suite 6 suite, as well as extra cloud storage areas and services, on a monthly basis.
