The iOS 16.2 beta, which is presently being made available to the general public, will include the Freeform app. If your Apple device is running the most recent versions of iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS Venture 13.1, you will be able to use Freeform. At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June of this year, the Freeform app was initially introduced.
Freeform is a whiteboard collaboration tool that enables concurrent document editing. It resembles what Google and Microsoft have been doing with their Docs and Office apps for years. You can make notes, sketches, diagrams, and share a variety of stuff in real time, such as videos, online connections, images, and even PDF files. Similar to other whiteboard apps, Freeform operates on the principle that everyone may participate in and contribute to a project by cooperating and offering their ideas.
The app Freeform is not the first of its sort. In reality, the App Store already has a number of top-notch whiteboard collaboration tools. However, Freeform stands out for its user-friendly interface and compatibility with all Apple products. Thus, Freeform becomes really helpful if your teacher and classmates utilise Apple devices. But it doesn’t offer cross-platform support. It will only work with Apple devices, so if your buddy uses an Android device, you won’t be able to work together on a project.
The Freeform software opens with a blank canvas and a selection of digital tools that may be used to take notes, sketch, or make tables. It is simple to open the Freeform app and get started using it right away because the UI is comparable to Apple’s Notes and iWork apps.
For doodling or drawing, select a selection of digital art tools. Using sliders, you can modify each tool to suit your preferences. Freeform, however, is not just for taking notes or drawing, as was previously said. To make a project more understandable, you can use blank space for writing and add images, words, links, and videos.
The user interface offers a grid where you may add shapes, text boxes, photographs, videos, sticky notes, and drawings. There are numerous shapes available, including those representing food, animals, education, symbols, science, places, and people. Making a yellow sticky note with the Freeform app is one of our favourite uses for it. Text can be added, and its colour and font size can be changed. Sticky notes, or “stickies” as Apple refers to them, can be written on directly with the Apple Pencil on the iPad.
Simply download or print everything that has been written or created as a PDF once your day of collaboration on the project is over.
