Ferdinand Bambang Marcos Jr., the son of a former brutal dictator in the Philippines, has won a landslide victory in the country’s presidential election. Her mother gained international notoriety for her huge collection of shoes.

Jim Laurie, an American journalist, was among the reporters who witnessed the incident as the mob stormed Marcos’ palace.
He said that when he went to the dressing room, he saw hundreds of designs of gowns, but the labels of all the famous fashion brands of New York, Paris or Rome were not torn from many garments.
He probably never wore them. And the Philippines is in a sense a very poor country. When you compare it, you will realize how vulgar this luxury is, how ugly it is.
However, this was only a small proof of the extent of corruption. Documents were also found on how the Marcos family smuggled millions of dollars into Swiss banks, and bought several homes in Manhattan, an elite area of New York.
There are many cases against them. In some cases family members are punished, in others they are acquitted.
In 1990, Marcos’ wife was acquitted by a jury in a high-profile fraud case in New York, and he returned to the Philippines.
