Cannabinoids are active chemical compounds that occur naturally in cannabis plants. There are over 100 different cannabinoids, but most of them are not so common. Some helpful cannabinoids with significant medical benefits include THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD, CBG (Cannabigerol), and CBN.

Each cannabinoid has its unique effects on the human body and mind. Herein, we discuss CBD vs. CBN vs. CBN uses and the differences.

What is CBG Cannabinoid?

Cannabigerol (CBG) is often considered the”mother of all cannabinoids” because, without it, the cannabis plant wouldn’t have its signature”high.” Manufacturers obtain cannabigerol from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA). Also called an “early phase” cannabinoid, CBGA is an acid form of CBG cannabinoids.

As cannabis plants develop and start flowering, various compounds and enzymes combine, forming CBGA, the CBG precursor. As the cannabis plants near the late flowering stage absorb more UV light, CBGA decomposes and converts into CBDA and THCA; acidic precursors to the prominent cannabinoids CBD and THC, respectively. However, small amounts of CBGA become CBG.

Unlike CBD and THC cannabinoids, CBG exists in trace amounts. In most cannabis strains, you are likely to get 1% CBG, while the rest falls on other cannabinoids. Conversely, CBD takes 20 -25%, while THC exists in 25-30% of marijuana plants.

Since CBG cannabinoid is hard to come by in large quantities, it tends to be rare and expensive. However, its effects and benefits compensate for the price resulting from its production cost.

How to Use CBG Oil

While there are thousands of reports from people who have used CBG, there are fewer studies on the effects of CBG. CBG vs. CBN for sleep users report feeling better after ingesting CBG.

Just like cannabidiol (CBD), CBG has fat-soluble molecules that can combine perfectly with fatty foods like nuts, cheese, butter, and milk.

You should take any of these foods before taking your CBG dose to increase absorption rates. Adding CBG oil or gummies may delay effects or even make it less effective.

In addition to trying different methods of taking CBG gummies for sleep, you may also want to experiment with how you take the oils themselves. While some prefer drops under the tongue (sublingually), others like them orally.

To use CBG oil:

  1. Shake your CBG bottle well
  2. Place 1 CBG drop under the tongue
  3. Hold your oil for one minute before swallowing the rest for optimal absorption

You may use CBG oil as many times as you prefer. However, we recommend you take three doses a day. If you are new to cannabis products, start with a smaller dose before figuring your way up.

You should always consult your doctor before starting any new treatment or supplement regimen.

What is the Difference Between CBD, CBG, and CBN?

The main CBD vs. CBN vs. CBN difference depends on its effects. For instance, CBG and CBD can’t intoxicate you. In contrast, CBN and THC manifest psychoactive effects at different levels.

CBG and CBD have similar effects on the body. However, they have several differences that are worth exploring.

Cannabigerol (CBG) is a minor cannabinoid, while CBD exists in large quantities. Hence, CBG accounts for a lesser percentage of cannabis cannabinoids. But, this does not mean CBG is ineffective.

CBG manifests effects by binding to CB1 and CB2 receptors. Afterward, it strengthens anamide functions, a neurotransmitter that makes you happy and motivated.

Although CBG cannabinoids also act by binding on both receptors, they will not leave you with effects similar to those of THC.

In CBN vs. CBD, CBD is more popular than CBN. Unlike CBD, which cannot intoxicate you, CBN will produce mild psychoactive doses when taken in large doses.

Wrap Up on CBD, CBG, and CBN Oils

Currently, there are many CBD products on the market than CBN and CBG. But with these cannabinoids manifesting similar effects, you may consider trying all of them.

Cannabinoids have unique qualities and use, but they all share one common goal: helping people live healthier lives. CBDfx provides the best cannabinoid products that can provide positive benefits for those who need them most.
