The Startup20 engagement group organized an Embassy meetup at the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, heralding a new era in the startup world. This was a huge development for the global startup ecosystem. The purpose of the event was to elicit a powerful response from the G20 leaders and establish the framework for determining the future course of startups around the world.

Eminent representatives from Denmark, Austria, Australia, Sweden, the United States, the European Union, Brazil, Oman, Canada, Indonesia, Mexico, and Estonia actively participated in the high-profile meeting. These representatives were instrumental in developing the laws that will promote the development and prosperity of startups in their respective countries.

This meeting laid the groundwork for subsequent events, including an eagerly anticipated gathering in Goa on June 3 and 4, 2023, followed by the final summit scheduled in Gurugram on July 4 and 5, 2023. These events built upon the overwhelming support received during the Inception meeting in January and the Sikkim Sabha in March 2023.

Participants had the chance to provide input and feedback on the Policy Communiqué’s first public draft during the meetup. More than 500 delegates from India, G20 countries, and invitee countries participated in an inclusive consultative process to develop the policy suggestions contained in this draft document. To make sure that all pertinent stakeholders provided thorough input, both actual and virtual sessions were held.

Key players in charge of startup-related agendas from various nations were brought together during the special meeting between the Startup20 engagement group and Embassy representatives. The goal was to encourage the development of a strong global startup ecosystem by participating actively in conversations regarding suggestions and policy directions.

Discussions on efficient methods for getting the Policy Communiqué document in front of the right people in the participating countries were among the meeting’s notable highlights. Participants also tried to reach agreement on the draught Policy Communiqué, highlighting the G20 countries’ leadership in the startup ecosystem.

India’s Startup20 Chair, Chintan Vaishnav, expressed his extreme gratitude for the ambassadors’ enthusiastic attendance at the G20 Startup20 Embassy meetup. Vaishnav appreciated the participants’ priceless thoughts and contributions, which are anticipated to fuel the expansion and prosperity of startups on a global scale. He emphasized once more that an active and healthy global startup ecosystem will be made possible by collective efforts in crafting regulations.

The startup ecosystem has gained new energy as a result of the G20 Startup20-Embassy meetup’s success on the Startup20 Policy Communiqué. More cooperation and advancement are anticipated in the upcoming months as the Startup20 engagement group solidifies its position as a benchmark for the composition and development of the global startup ecosystem.
