Accommodation

Things to Consider:
- As you reach higher, the accommodation facilities may become more essential, so you need to be prepared for limited facilities.
- The temperature drops less than the minus point at higher elevations, so it is advised to bring a sleeping bag for comfortable sleep.

Best Season
The Manaslu Circuit trek is optimal during spring and autumn, as these seasons offer favorable weather conditions for trekking. Both seasons are idle, so Spring and Autumn are peak seasons for the trek in Manaslu Circuit.
Spring, with a stable temperature and weather, blooming rhododendron flowers, and a clear sky, has become the perfect season to trek at Manaslu Circuit. March, April, and May are the three months that fall during Spring. So, to begin your journey on the Manaslu Circuit, you are advised to trek during those three months.
Like Spring, Autumn is another primary trekking season for Manaslu Circuit. Autumn comes after the monsoon season, with a clear sky free from heavy rainfall. With the precise temperature and comfortable trekking conditions, Autumn has become a favorite trek during the Manaslu Circuit season. The harvesting time in Autumn, from September to November, has another charm, allowing you to witness the traditional farming practices of locals.
Things to Consider:
- Avoid trekking during the Summer and Winter seasons to have less risk during the trekking time.
- Before starting the trek, consider checking weather conditions and weather forecasts.
Permits
If you want to trek in any area of Nepal, including the Manaslu Circuit, you’ve to get some permits. The Nepal Government prohibited this area. So, here are the permits you need for your Manaslu Circuit adventure.
1. Manaslu Restricted Area Permit:
Since the government of Nepal declared the Manaslu area as a restricted region, a special permit is necessary for entry. Upon reaching Jagat, the Manaslu Restricted Area Permit is required.
The permit is required till you get SamaGaon; afterward, you need another permit. The permit cost depends on the day you’ll spend between Jagat and Dharapani. The first checkpost of the Manalsu restricted permit is at Jagat, and the last is at Samagaon.
2. Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP):
During the trek to the Manaslu circuit, you’ll pass through the area surrounded by the Annapurna Conservation area. The ACAP checkpoint is at Dharapani, which means you need ACAP as you enter Dharapani.
The first checkpoint of the ACAP is at Dharapani, and the final checkpoint is at the Besi Sahara. The price of the ACAP is the same throughout the year as it doesn’t change season-wise or by any factor.
3. Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP):
As the Manaslu region falls within the Manaslu Conservation area, MCAP is mandatory to trek in the Manaslu region. The MCAP checkpoint is after you pass the Jagat and reach EkleBhatti. At EkleBhatti, you’ll have your MCAP checkpoint. The price of the Manaslu conservation area permit is consistent throughout the year.
Difficulty
Trekking in Manaslu is challenging. The highest point is 5106m at Larkya La Pass. Terk includes rough paths that increase the overall challenge.
The remote landscapes of the Manaslu Circuit add another difficulty while trekking. Similarly, basic and limited infrastructure facilities made it difficult for those unable to adjust to basic facilities. The unpredictable weather conditions at the high altitudes create another difficulty during the trek. Long trekking hours may create another problem during the Manaslu circuit trek.
Last but not least, the less crowded trekking path may also create difficulty on the trek of the Manaslu Circuit. People may find peace walking on less overcrowded trails, but you’re unlikely to get help fast during an emergency.
Guide
As per the rules of the Nepal government, hiking on the Manaslu circuit without a guide is illegal. You can’t trek on Manaslu Circuit solo; you must go with others and a guide.
