A title search is a document created from data found in the land title register at a certain moment and released by the land title office outlining the specifics of a title to land. Get a copy of the title if you want to know who is currently listed as the registered owner of a property.

land title search contains information about the registered fee simple holder(s) (the owners), the legal description of the parcel, the parcel identification number (PID), and any registered charges, liens, and interests. A title won’t have a phone number or a list of chains.

You must purchase a copy of a title to view its contents. There are three ways to get a current title:

Quickly search for active land titles with the “Find a Land Title” tool. You can conduct a search using the parcel, title, land, and owner names.

The quickest and simplest way to locate an active Land Title is using Quick Search. You can select to view an image of the Title or a Parcel Picture, which shows the approximate size and nearby parcels, from the search results that Quick Search returns. Additionally, you can ask for a certified print of the book. There are some costs. 

You can use Quick Search to look for a live title by: 

The parcel number is one of the quickest ways to locate a title. The land is linked to the parcel numbers, which don’t change unless the actual parcel varies. The parcel number is unaffected by modifications to ownership and/or title information.

• Title Number – If the title you are seeking is currently live, searching by title number will lead you directly to it. The title number adjusts to reflect the “new” title whenever information on a title changes (such as new owners, etc.).

• Owner Name – To search by owner name, enter the last name of the person(s) you believe to be the current land owner or the name of the company that holds title to the property. If you’re not sure of a term’s precise spelling, you can broaden your search to include names with like spellings. You can also look for books on people who have passed away or who have filed for bankruptcy.

• Land Description – Using a land description as a search criterion is the most common. You may look for surface and mineral titles using this technique. You must enter the section, township, range, and meridian when searching by land description, but you can also specify other details like what quarter section it is. using the land description to search displays information on the ownership share and title lock. A title lock prevents the title from being used.

Important Information: Quick Search will only let users look up titles that are active right now. No information about the former owners or any interests that were deleted from a title will be displayed in the title results that are returned. For these kinds of title searches, Search is advised.

• Packet Number (the identification code given to each customer’s request to submit work);

Records matching your search criteria will be returned by your search. You may view a lot of fundamental information for free from this Search Results page.
