WhatsApp’s ‘delete for everyone feature is a great way to delete messages that you no longer want to keep on your device. This feature is available for both individual chats and group chats.

Until recently, there was no way to delete a sent message on WhatsApp. Once it was sent, it was there forever (or at least until the recipient deleted it). But with the introduction of the ‘delete for everyone feature, you can now delete your message before the recipient sees it.

You send a message on WhatsApp to the wrong person or type something out in anger that you regret immediately afterward. Thankfully, WhatsApp has a ”delete for everyone” feature that allows you to recall your message before the recipient has a chance to see it.

What Is WhatsApp’s Delete For Everyone Feature?

The new feature is called “Delete for Everyone” and it gives you the power to delete a message up to seven minutes after it was sent. The message will appear deleted for you and the person you sent it to.

To use the feature, simply long press on the message you want to delete and select the “Delete for Everyone” option. You’ll then be given the option to delete the message or cancel.

If you choose to delete the message, it will be replaced with a “This message was deleted” notice for both you and the person you sent it to. The “Delete for Everyone” feature is currently rolling out to users worldwide and should be available to everyone in the coming weeks.

If you’ve ever sent a message on WhatsApp that you immediately regretted, you’ll be glad to know that the app now has a “delete for everyone” feature. This allows you to delete messages that you’ve sent, even if the recipient has already read them.

It’s important to note that this feature is only available for messages that were sent within the last seven minutes. So if you accidentally send a message to the wrong person, you’ll need to act fast!

To delete a message, simply long-press on it and select the “delete” option. Then, select “delete for everyone.”

Here’s how it works

When you delete a message on WhatsApp, it is deleted from your side of the conversation only. The recipient will still be able to see it. Earlier, the time limit of deleting the message was within seven minutes of sending it but thankfully it is now increased to 1 hour 8 minutes, and 16 seconds. After this time, the message will be deleted from the recipient’s side as well as your own.

To delete a message for everyone, simply tap and hold on to the message, then tap the ‘delete for everyone option. The message will then be deleted from both your device and the recipient’s device. Here’s a detailed description of the steps.

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and then go to the particular chat.

Step 2: Tap and hold the message and press on the dustbin icon, placed on the top bar of the chat.

Step 3: Once you tap on it, you will get three options, including Delete for me, Delete for everyone and Cancel.

Step 4: Tap on delete for everyone and then your message will be deleted from both sides.

Note: this feature only works if the recipient has not seen the message yet. If they have already seen it, you will not be able to delete it from their side. But on the other hand, some users are being able to access deleted messages on WhatsApp using Yo WhatsApp APK. It is a clone of the original WhatsApp app which supposedly lets its users access hidden features of WhatsApp.

Conclusion

WhatsApp’s ‘delete for everyone feature is a great way to delete messages that you no longer want to be seen by others. This feature works for both iOS and android. It is especially useful if you accidentally send a message to the wrong person or if you want to delete a message that you no longer want to be seen by others.

Now you can rest assured that your embarrassing type or any other confession will never see the light of day! This feature is currently only available on the latest version of WhatsApp, so make sure you update the app if you want to use it.
