Holding Hay Makes Petting Animals Easier
Making sure all of the animals are happy and well-cared for is one of the many wonderful tasks of Stardew Valley. A critical component of this upkeep is ensuring that the animals are petted at least once per day.
Unfortunately, it is very easy to constantly open the mood dialogue box while petting the animals. This can be aggravating, especially when there are many animals in a small space. As a result, knowing that this dialog box will not appear when you hold up a hay piece is useful. This allows you to run around petting your animals without having to wait too long.
You Can Get Pam To The Bus Faster
You must wait until Pam is ready to drive the bus after it has been restored. She arrives at the bus stop around 10 a.m., implying that you can’t get to the desert by bus before that time.
However, if you wait around Pam’s house before she leaves, you can get in her way. She will become frustrated after a few seconds of being blocked and will begin running to the bus stop. You’ll have more time to explore the Skull Cavern now that Pam is ready sooner.
Fences Can Create Self-Sustaining Grass Feeders
Every day, animals require a constant supply of fresh grass. Although grass can naturally spawn, you will frequently need to start a new patch of grass with a Grass Starter pack. This is especially true when the animals eat every last piece of grass in their enclosure, leaving none for the animals to spread.
A great way to avoid this situation is to lay a Grass Starter pack and then place a fence post directly on top of it. This will prevent the animals from eating this particular tuft of grass while also spawning new tufts.
Junimos Can Be Made To Appear Each Day
Junimos are wonderful forest spirits who assist you in a variety of ways, including assisting in the restoration of the Community Center. You can eventually buy a Junimo hut from the Wizard. When the crops are ready to harvest and are within range of the Jumino hut, a group of Junimos will go out into the farm to gather the produce for you.
They will return inside once they have finished harvesting any nearby crops and will not return until there are more crops to harvest. But there is a way to ensure that they are present on the farm every day. Simply fence off at least one crop that is ready to harvest. The Junimos will be unable to reach it, but they will still try. It’s a little cruel, but it means you get to see the Junimos every day, making the farm feel a little more magical.
You Can Repeatedly Till The Same Dirt In The Mines
You can do more than just fight enemies and break rocks while exploring the mines. You can till the soil in the mine if you bring a hoe on your adventure, and you may find artifacts, cave carrots, clay, and geodes.
You can un-till the dirt by using a pickaxe. Then you can use the hoe again on the same spot to see if you can find another item. Another method for resetting the dirt is to exit and re-enter the mine. The same soil will be ready to be tilled again, hopefully with more valuable loot.
Your Horse Can Sell Ice Cream
During the summer, Alex will open the ice cream stand and, predictably, sell ice cream from Thursday to Tuesday. These delectable snacks make excellent gifts for the vast majority of the villagers. Unfortunately, Alex only operates this stall between 1 and 5 p.m. during the summer.
You can, however, use a strange but useful trick to gain unlimited access to the ice cream stand. If you park your horse behind the stand, they will appear to be the owner. The ice cream stand can then be used as usual, regardless of the season.
You Can Fish Up Unlimited Void Mayonnaise
Void Mayonnaise is a mysterious artisan product that is a great seller but not always easy to find. Fortunately, there is a way to obtain a large quantity of it. You can find the Witch’s hut after completing the Dark Talisman quest. A goblin henchman guards the hut and will not leave until you give them a jar of Void Mayonnaise. You have a 25% chance of catching Void Mayonnaise if you fish in the swamp during this quest. However, this only occurs if you do not already have any void mayonnaise in your inventory.
A useful trick at this point is to place a chest nearby to store the Mayo. Then, with none in your inventory, you can keep using that 25% chance of finding more. Unfortunately, once you give the goblin a jar of Void Mayonnaise, the 25% chance of finding Void Mayonnaise in the swamp vanishes, so take advantage of this trick while you can.
Paths Can Stop You From Accidentally Knocking Down Scarecrows
Scarecrows (and their Rarecrow counterparts) are common in Stardew Valley. They come in a variety of styles and are extremely useful for protecting valuable crops from crafty crows. Unfortunately, tilling the ground around them, particularly with upgraded hoes that can cultivate a large area, will remove the scarecrow from its location.
