In recent years, there have been more and more pure electric vehicles on the road, and the trend towards electrification has become inevitable. While there are a number of high-end models available from domestic new energy companies, for consumers, an affordable pure electric vehicle with sufficient range and flexibility is the perfect tool for commuting to and from work in the city. The Honda Neta V is an entry-level compact SUV based on the concept of “smart and fun”, and our test drive was with the long-range Smart Edition upgrade. For more features and information, let me take you on a look.

Honda Neta V

–Exterior –

In terms of appearance, the new car still adopts the popular closed centre grille, together with the high visual centre of gravity of the front surround, giving the whole front a high degree of recognition and refinement.

The headlamps are quite durable and always look like the sharp eyes of the Honda Neta V in the cartoon. The interior of the lamps is illuminated by halogen light sources, both near and far, and is equipped with LED daytime running lights.

The Honda Neta V measures 4070mm/1690mm/1540mm and has a wheelbase of 2420mm. It has a longer front and rear overhang and is longer than the likes of the Ola Black Cat and Chery Ant, but it is still an entry-level A00 model in terms of wheelbase. Now, car lovers can enjoy the Honda Neta V Price starting from 549,000 THB in Thailand now.

It has AC slow charging ports and DC fast charging ports located on the left and right wings at the front of the car, respectively.

The rear of the Honda Neta V has a very full shape, which gives it more luggage space than the competition, and the blacking out of the C-pillar brings a floating roof effect that adds a bit of style to it.

–Interior –

The interior of the Honda Neta V is similar in style to the minimalist design of the Tesla Model 3, with almost all operations regarding vehicle controls and entertainment systems integrated into the large screen, except for the dual flashing buttons which remain. The large 13.3-inch centre screen is particularly large in the cabin, which is not very spacious.

The narrow LCD instrument cluster at the front windscreen can be described as sabre-rattling, with traditional gauge information such as hour, gear, time and outdoor temperature rearranged within the small screen, which becomes more interesting the more you get used to seeing it. This is a unique way of designing the dashboard and is still quite pleasing to the eye.

As an entry-level model, the Honda Neta V’s seats are, of course, fabric and manually adjustable. A commendable feature is a folding armrest on the side of the main driver’s seat back, which enhances comfort on long drives.

The rear seats of the Honda Neta V can be emptied to extend the boot space to 552L, and although the floor is not flat, the practicality is still the best in the A00 electric car class.

–Power and driving experience –

The standard range version has a 40kW drive motor with 110N-m peak torque and a 31.18kWh battery pack, giving it an NEDC range of 301km, while the long-range version we drove has a 55kW drive motor with 175N-m peak torque and a 38.54kWh battery pack, giving it an NEDC range of 401km. The NEDC range is 401km.

The Honda Neta V’s overall power output is relatively strong at the start, and due to the nature of electric vehicles, maximum torque is available the moment the accelerator pedal is pressed. 175N-m of torque is easily available to propel the car, and acceleration is particularly brisk at low and medium speeds, with a little bit of pushback to be felt when the accelerator is pressed.

The Honda Neta V’s kinetic energy recuperation is adjustable in three gears, and in the mild mode, you’ll feel very little drag, similar to the feeling you get when you let go of the accelerator pedal in a fuel car.

To add intelligent attributes to enhance its competitiveness, Honda Neta V is also equipped with active safety features such as Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Traffic Light Recognition (TLR), Pedestrian Collision Warning (PCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), a bumper-to-bumper intelligent Driving Recorder (DVR) and intelligent High and Low Beams (HBA).

Editor’s Summary:

Compared to the previous Honda Neta N01, the Honda Neta V is a qualitative leap forward, with much improved design and features. In the entry-level electric vehicle market, this large and spacious product is highly competitive.
