The manufacturing steps of the CNC rapid prototyping: data collection (plan drawing, 3D data, 2D drawing) →3D data(drawing, patching and part design)→Material selection & programming(clamping, plane milling, positioning hole milling frame, cavity roughening)→ Overcut repair(cavity finishing, gypsum filling, turnover, clamping)→milling plane(outer surface roughening and fine machining)
Table of Contents
1. Customer products data collection
Conduct an analysis to the documents provided by customers to determine the materials, effect, quantity, delivery date, and other information required for making the prototype.
2. Programming.
The CNC programmer will program and arrange the CNC operator to process according to the 3D drawing of the hand-board prototype, and most of the hand-board prototype making companies will use UG, which can clearly describe the requirements of customers to a large extent during the business process. The technicians can also carry out the data analysis with these.
3. Division of labour
Since simple hand-board prototype part cannot be completed by CNC machining, but only hand made.
4. Mapping
Measure and verify all prototype parts according to the requirements of customers.
5. Assembly
After the parts are measured and qualified, start the assembly. The assembly of hand-board is to test whether the product design is reasonable or not, or meet the requirements, which is indispensable part. During the process, two methods can be adopted to deal with issues, which are manual modification and redesign.
6. Polishing and grinding
The parts can be polished after it is being measured and tested, polishing is for surface treatment, but some invisible parts do not need to be polished.
7. Surface treatment
The surface treatment of the hand board prototype refers to oil injection or coloring. With the consent of the customer, we can omit the surface treatment of parts that are invisible after the final assembly.
8. Decoration design
After the prototype is completed, some customers may also other requirements, like silk screen printing, pad printing, bronzing and other decorative treatments, but mainly include logo or word processing. Logo decoration on the prototype is also a common method used by many companies.
9. Fast lead-time
This is very important. It must be confirmed with grefeemold as soon as possible after the order is placed, so as to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
