Once installed, create a new blank post or page on your new site and then click on “Duplicate” in the toolbar. This will open up all of the settings for duplicating an item from within WordPress itself. You should see options for duplicating posts or pages with categories and tags intact, along with additional options, such as enabling/disabling images or attachments when copying items from one blog to another.
Copying Widgets, Menus, and Other Customizations
You can export the widgets and menus you have created to your WordPress website. This will help you import them back into your new theme.
To do this, go to Appearance > Menus and click Export Menu. On this page, select your menu from the drop-down menu. You might be asked for your password because it is an administrative function that needs a login.
You can also export any other customizations not covered by widgets or menus, like custom headers, footers, etc., by visiting Settings > General and selecting what you want from the large list of settings available on that page.
Export and Import Plugins Settings
Importing the plugin settings for your new WordPress website can be a tricky process, but it’s not impossible.
