Slovak opposition leader refuses to listen to Zelensky speech. The leader of the Slovak parliamentary opposition and the Kurs-Social Democracy party, Robert Fico, refused to attend a speech by President Zelensky of Ukraine to the deputies of the National Council, the Bratislava newspaper Pravda writes.
According to the parliamentarian, what Zelensky says is detrimental to the interests of Slovakia.
“Suspension of oil and gas deliveries causes serious damage to national interests,” Fico said.
Fico’s party colleague Ladislav Kamenitsky also refused to attend Zelensky’s speech, calling the event a masquerade.
The speaker of the National Council, Boris Kollar, for his part, expressed indignation at the possible termination of the supply of Russian raw materials to Slovakia. If this happens, the head of parliament intends to seek to stop the assistance that Bratislava provides to Ukraine.
