Tata Neu, the super app from the Tata Group, will be released on April 7. The news was made via a teaser graphic on the app’s Google Play Store website. It had begun promoting the super app in public for the first time in conjunction with the ongoing Indian Premier League event. Until far, the app has only been available to Tata Group workers.

Tata Neu is the conglomerate’s super app, which combines all of the company’s digital services and apps into one place. “Consume cutting-edge digital entertainment, make payments, manage your money, plan your next trip or even just your next meal – there’s plenty to explore and experience in the world of Tata Neu,” the app’s description says on its Play Store website.

Various Tata Group digital services will be available through the Tata Neu app, including booking flights on AirAsia India, Air India, or reserving accommodations at Taj Group facilities, buying groceries from BigBasket, pharmaceuticals from 1mg, and purchasing gadgets from Croma and clothes from Westside. The startup will award users with Neu Coins for spending money on the app, which can be redeemed for services offered through the app.

Several major internet corporations, like Amazon, Paytm, and Reliance Jio, have developed their own super apps, which offer a variety of services such as payments, multimedia streaming, shopping, travel reservations, and grocery, among others.

When a big portion of a nation’s population uses a smartphone first rather than a PC, and the ecosystem of applications tailored to local requirements has not emerged, the country or area becomes highly app-ready. India has already established itself as a market where the bulk of individuals who are using the internet for the first time do so via their mobile phones.

One of the key reasons why Indian corporations are interested in developing super applications is because of this. Apart from enhanced revenue realisation owing to the consolidation of services into a single location, such applications also supply businesses with enormous swathes of consumer data that can be used to learn more about user behaviour.
