JP Nadda, BJP’s national president, spoke about his first train ride after a long period. On Twitter, BJP President Amit Shah tweeted a footage of the politician boarding a train in New Delhi and continuing his journey to Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan.

JP Nadda tweeted,” Travelled by train after a long time and was elated to see the significant improvement in the cleanliness, hygiene and hospitality provided. I commend the Railway Minister and the Ministry, for the efforts taken by them under the visionary leadership of our Hon. Prime Minister.”

Meanwhile, the government told the Rajya Sabha on Friday that Indian Railways plans to deploy its state-of-the-art indigenous technology ‘Kavach’ on 3,009 route kilometres (RKM) on the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah sectors.

The declaration was made by Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav in response to a question from Bharatiya Janata Party MP Brij Lal.

“As of February 28, 2022, the technology is installed on 1,098 Rk of South Central Railway,” the Minister said, adding that “Kavach is intended to be implemented on 3,009 Rkm on Delhi Mumbai and Delhi Howrah lines.”

“Prevention of Signal Passing At Danger (SPAD); continuous update of movement authority; Prevention of Over-speed: Section Speed, Train Speed, Permanent Speed Restriction, and Loop Line Speed Control; prevention of collision between two Locos equipped with functional TCAS; and display of Signal Aspect in Loco pilot’s cab are among the main salient features of ‘Kavach,'” the minister continued.

He also mentioned that the absolute block section experiment for ‘Kavach’ began in October 2017 at the South Central Railway’s Lingampaily-Wadi and Vikarabad-Bidar stations.

The automatic block section experiment for ‘Kavach’ began in February 2019 in Sanath Nagar Lingampally on the South Central Railway, while the 160 kmph speed trial for ‘Kavach’ began in October 2018 on the North Central Railway’s Mathura-Agra line, according to the Minister.
