US President Joe Biden has named Karin Jean-Pierre as the new White House Press Secretary. He is the first black man to serve as a White House spokesman. The British media reported on the BBC.

Jean-Pierre, 44, has been his administration’s chief deputy press secretary since Joe Biden was elected president.

Karin will replace current Press Secretary Jane Saki, 43, later this week.

The press secretaries held daily press conferences with White House reporters.

Jane Sackie, the current White House press secretary, will join the New York-based news channel MSNBC. So, Saki will be replaced by Jean-Pierre.

In a tweet, Jane Saki described her successor as an extraordinary woman with moral qualities. “I can’t wait to see her shine, because she brings a great combination of her own style and talent to the workplace,” said Jane Saki.

The White House press secretary is the president’s spokesman to the national and international media.

For the first time in the history of the United States, the world will see a black woman as the spokesperson of the administration.
