Alina Kabayeva, a so-called girlfriend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been included in the proposed sixth round of sanctions by the European Union (EU) in protest of the attack on Ukraine. Though the draft proposal has not been passed yet, the issue is being discussed in Brussels. European leaders are optimistic that it will pass soon. Diplomatic sources said talks were ongoing.
