Italy is sending weapons to Ukraine according to a parliamentary mandate that was voted for by almost all of Italy’s political parties, Defence Minister Lorenzo Guerini said Friday.

“The government is working to support Ukraine according to the indications that have been given by Parliament with a resolution that was voted for by a very wide majority, almost unanimously, and which committed the government, among other things. to support the Ukrainian resistance via the shipment of military materiel, with defensive weapons systems.

“That is what we are doing, with the shipments we have made so far, together with other European countries, together with allied Countries and on the basis, I repeat, of the mandate we have received from Parliament”.

The 5-Star Movement (M5S), the biggest parliamentary group, has objected to Italy’s arms shipments to Kyiv. (ANSA).
