State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak visited Harvard University in Massachusetts, USA. He visited the world’s oldest research center on Tuesday (May 10). After the visit, Minister of State Palak met with a delegation from the university at Harvard’s second-oldest building and the university’s historic Wadsworth House.

Also present were Shaira Kachubayeva of the University’s Office of the Provost, International Affairs, Sachit Balsari Lakshmi Mittal, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard, and Hitesh Hathi, Executive Director of the Family Institute.

The meeting discussed in detail the selection of areas of collaboration between the ICT department and Harvard University for joint research.
The state minister said Bangladesh is going to undertake joint research activities with Harvard University. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between the ICT department and the university authorities soon.
During the meeting, the Minister of State for ICT highlighted various initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and under the supervision of Hon’ble Adviser to the Prime Minister on ICT Sajeeb Wazed Joy to build skilled manpower suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He specializes in establishing Sheikh Russell Digital Lab, School of Future, 43 Hi-Tech Parks, 64 Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers, Robotics, AR / VR, Blockchain and Frontier Technology. He highlighted the progress of information technology sector in Bangladesh including the establishment of Frontier Technology.
He added that due to the development of proper infrastructure in the IT sector in the last 13 years, it has been possible to keep health, education, agriculture, entertainment, courts and administrative activities running during the Corona period. Vaccine activities have been made extremely successful through the Vaccine Management System Protection Apps.
State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak also visited the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and had a meeting with the Executive Director of MIT.
