Meta announced on Thursday that drafts and the in-app camera, two of the “most requested” features, are now being tested. According to Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, only a select few can use both functions.

Unfortunately, users with access to the draft can only save one post. In the Composer, you can write the post you wish to publish later. To keep the draft, swipe down. When you have a draft saved that you still need to submit, the Threads app displays a separate composer symbol in the bottom bar.

Mark Zuckerberg shared a picture using the new camera shortcut in the Composer, along with the addition of the drafts function. If you want to upload a photo to Threads quickly, this shortcut makes it more accessible. However, it could be more apparent if you can perform simple edits like cropping an image.

This move coincides with X’s intention to display photographs via carousels modeled after Threads, per app researcher Nima Owji.

With over 130 million active users on the network, Threads wants to give them access to additional tools for interaction. The company debuted hot topics earlier this month and has begun experimenting with Facebook cross-posting features

In summary, Threads’ implementation of in-app camera shortcuts and drafts represents a significant stride in elevating the overall user experience on the platform. The ongoing testing phase underscores dedication to refining and optimizing features, aiming to offer users smoother and more efficient ways to interact with visual content. By integrating these features directly into the Threads application, the platform seeks to simplify capturing and sharing moments, cultivating a more dynamic and user-friendly atmosphere. As testing advances, users can look forward to an enhanced and user-friendly interface, promoting greater engagement with the app’s camera functions. This strategic move aligns with the industry’s emphasis on user convenience and immediacy, underscoring Threads’ commitment to leading social media innovation.
