Bhagat Singh (born on 27 September 1907) was an Indian revolutionary freedom fighter. He was a revolutionary hero of the Indian Independence movement who participated in the mistaken murder of a junior British officer. Bhagat Singh was a great patriot, he not only battled for India’s freedom but also gave his life for the Nation. His devotees regarded him as Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

Bhagat Singh was born on 27 September 1907 in Lyallpur District of western Punjab (Now Pakistan) to Kishan Singh Sandhu and Vidyavati Kaur. He was the second of seven siblings.

When he was born his uncles Ajit Singh and Swaran Singh as well as including his father Kishan Singh, were all imprisoned for protesting in 1906.

He began to protest British rule in India while still a youth and soon fought for India’s Independence.

Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt exploded a bomb in Delhi’s Central Assembly on 8 April 1929. They planned to utilize the trial as a platform to propagate their message of revolution. They never intended to hurt anybody, thus there were no casualties in the incident.
